On the 18th of November 2006 the Dash fleet once again set sail from Lanzarote to Tarfaya Sahara Morocco, 15 crafts filled with donations for the charities, such as wheel chairs, computers, clothes, toys, medicine, nappies and crutches.
Over 100 participants took part in this 5th edition of the Dash organised by Youths United.
The Dash group was greeted by hundreds of people on the pier, the first boat to arrive was an inflatable rib skippered by José Manuel Galán Pérez de Ferlanza who did the crossing in 2 hours and 45 minutes, soon followed by the rest of the boats skippered by Rafael Gonzalez, Consejal de Cultura del Ayuntamiento de Tias, Ye Cabrera de Airsol amongst others.
Donations were soon loaded on to the pier and shared between the three charities, Adaph (supporting handicapped children and adults), Surfaya (Windsurf school in Tarfaya) and Friends of Tarfaya (organisation for the development of Tarfaya).
The Dash participants was greeted by the welcoming and smiling people of Tarfaya and taken to Bedouin tent for tea and then on to official dinner and entertainment laid on by the Moroccan Government.
The excursions organised for the Dash 2006 group went to Naila Lake, Hank Beach
(new surf spot) and Laayoune to visit the market and the Adaph Charity Centre.
